Teacher and Building Update

On Monday, August 15th we received additional FTE allocation.  We will be adding a sixth session of Kindergarten - three morning sessions and three afternoon sessions.  We also added a seventh first grade class.  I will be hiring the teacher for first grade in the next few days.

Things are coming along!  We are receiving deliveries daily.  The building and the classrooms are taking shape and will be ready for students on the first day of school.  Phone and internet lines are being run to the building.  We are on schedule for opening the building for teachers and the office staff to move in on Wednesday, August 24th (this is the day we should receive our Certificate of Occupancy).  Workers may still be in the building for a while finishing off various odds and ends.  We seem to have daily mini-crisis that thankfully are worked out each day.  Life is exciting and each day is an adventure!

I am excited for the start of the new school and for students to show up.  We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, August 25th for Back to School Night at 6:30 p.m.

  1. So, there will be construction workers in and out of the school for a while? I'm not sure I'm very comfortable with that. Are they district employees? At the very least they will have been fingerprinted, I hope.

  2. Those who will be allowed in the building will be in the building under direct supervision. These workers will be minimal. If the work interferes with student learning the work will take place after hours.
